It was designed by San Antonio architect Bartlett Cocke in the Streamline Moderne style, with a glass-block tower and original ticket booth that still survive. After repairs in the mid-2000s it went back to showing first-run films. It sits on Avenue M about a block from City Hall, in the heart of Hondo's historic downtown.
